ABOUT THE WORK

I strive to bring the best of the classical masters, by capturing the powerful technique known as the “light effect” in my drawings and paintings.

INSPIRATION

BEHIND THE ARTWORK

Having a passion for creating art from such a young age, Ashlyn Monroe quickly fell in love with the old masters and classical art styles. In her youth, she focused on making master copies and sought to take art seriously as a full time career. While in school, she specifically studied these master’s use of light, and it was there that she fell in love with the works of Rembrant, Dou, Bouguereau, and so many more. As Ashlyn explains, “This art was lost to the modern world. So, it is my sincere desire to reproduce work representative of the style of these masters, as it is the highest quality art that one can possess.”
